Photograph of the memorial at the South Wales Miners' Library commemorating fallen heroes of the International Brigades from Wales. It is made out of Welsh coal, slate and steel. The following words in Welsh and English are on the memorial "To the immortal memory of the Welshmen who with their comrades of Spain and of many nations in the ranks of the International Brigades gave their lives in support of the Heroic struggle aganist fascism 1936 - 1939." The names of the Welsh men who died in Spain are below and then this short verse "He fell exalting brotherhood and right, His bleeding visage scorched by fire and smoke, E'en as the sweetest note is born of pain, So shall the song of songs be born".
