The box contains : a file of correspondence addressed to Oliver Harris, General Secretary of the South Wales Miners' Federation, concerning silicosis cases (1932-33); a file of circulars from the Mineworkers Federation of Great Britain to District Secretaries (1933-34); a copy of the Spain Emergency Committee of the International Peace Campaign, deputation to the Prime Minister (7.1.1939); a file of miscellaneous papers from the Rhondda Borough Labour Party and a financial statement and balance sheet (1937-38); monthly bulletins of statistics for the South Wales Miners' Federation (1922); a copy of the proceedings of the South Wales Institute of Engineers (12.11.1929); a copy of a "Report on the incidence of silicosis and pneumoconiosis, and preventitive measures adopted to combat the diseases in South Wales" issued by the NUM South Wales Area (22.8.1945); copies of the minutes of proceedings at the Conciliation Board for the Coal Trade of Monmouthshire and South Wales (1920 and 1941); a copy of the minutes of proceedings at a meeting of the Joint Sub Committee dealing with Unemployment and Distribution of Trade (11.1.1921); copies of "Inquiries into Conditions of Employment at the Powell Duffryn Collieries and the Conditions of the Federation Organisation in relation thereto" (31.1.1938); copies of the "Report on Investigation in D A Hann Group" (nd).
